On December 29, 1944 during the height of the Manhattan Project Local
Union 598 received its Charter from the United Association of Journeymen
and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United
States and Canada.
Our signatory contractors and the members of Local Union 598 form a team
that serves twenty one counties in Eastern Washington and Eastern
Oregon. Our jurisdiction goes from the Canadian border to below John
Day Oregon and from the Cascade Mountains to the Idaho Border. We work
together to build everything from residential projects to nuclear
facilities.
Contractors and Members of Local Union 598 take pride and ownership of
every project in being the “best of the best” within our respective
industries. Local Union 598 dedicates over one million dollars a year
for training. Our members receive the training to be the most
productive and highly skilled craftsmen within the industry. With our
motto “We Do it Right the First Time” clients can be assured that our
contractors and members will deliver a safe, quality project, on
schedule and under budget.
Local Union 598 is a community, family based organization. Our members and contractors are very proud of the communities we live and work in., Involvement is a core principal of our organization. Our involvement includes teaching, coaching, reserve firefighters and police, and active and reserve military. The membership of Local Union 598 strives to improve the quality of life for our families and communities.
