Apprenticeship Application Process

ATTENTION

DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY GIVING OUT OR ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

Applicant must obtain the application IN PERSON from LOCAL 598 JATC

Time:

Monday - Friday

1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Where:

Local 598 JATC (TRAINING CENTER)

1328 N. Road 28

Pasco, WA 99301     

    

Testing:
On the day the application is picked up, the applicant will be required to complete (at their own expense) a Non-D.O.T. drug test at a Lourdes Occupational Health facility with negative results.

The applicant will also be given instructions on how to take the placement test administered by the local community college.

Columbia Basin College has changed their form of placement testing. The new tests are called the Accuplacer (for the Reading and Writing) and the ALEKS (for the Math). The minimum scores are as follows:

ACCUPLACER

ALEKS

Reading – 220

Math – 12

WritePlacer - 3


In order for the application to be considered valid and the applicant scheduled for an interview by the committee, the following requirements must be completed and in the possession of the committee within 60 days from the date the application was picked up.

1. Completed application for apprenticeship

2. Results of a current placement test

3. Negative drug test result
       
4. High school transcripts or G.E.D test scores
          
5. Military Discharge (DD-214), if applicable
       
6. Birth certificate  

7. Work history for the past 5 years (to be completed on the application)

8. Three (3) personal and three (3) professional letters of recommendation
